FAQ

WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?

Hypnosis is a safe and naturally occurring state that can be very relaxing.  Everyone experiences a natural hypnotic state when they are about to fall asleep, day dreaming, watching a movie, reading a book.   Even if you may be thinking about something else, you are aware of your surroundings and activities.  You are fully aware and in control when in a hypnotic state. Hypnotherapy is the process of healing that uses hypnosis as a tool to overcome unwanted habits, recovery from illness, release fears and phobias, reduce stressful states, and in turn improve our overall functioning and well being.

DO YOU USE HYPNOSIS WITH ALL YOUR CLIENTS?

No, I only use hypnosis when the client requests it.  Most of my clients are referred to me through other professionals and clients specifically for hypnosis.  I often use it at the request of physicians and therapists to support their work and achieve a better outcome for their patient. The scientific evidence demonstrating the success of hypnosis with a variety of conditions continues to grow.

IS CLINICAL HYPNOSIS LIKE STAGE HYPNOSIS?

No, Stage Hypnosis is done for the purpose of entertainment and audience members who volunteer are often highly suggestible people who are prescreened by the hypnotist.  What I do is very different as you are In your home (or my office for local clients), you are under no pressure to perform and any changes come about from your desire for change. You are always in complete control and can come out the relaxed state as you wish.

IS CLINICAL HYPNOSIS EFFECTIVE IN A VIDEO ON-LINE SESSION?

Many of my clients find it easier to experience hypnosis in the comfort of their own home, listening to my voice through headsets.  The effect can be even greater than sitting a few feet apart in an office setting.  I also do customized recordings for clients to listen to at their convenience.
